Holly Lyons |
Holly Lyons graduated with her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Wichita State University in 1999. (Go Shockers!) She also has a minor in Anthropology. She has worked for the Wichita Public Schools since graduating and has had opportunities to evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment for children ranging from preschool through high school for the past 17 years. She truly enjoys working with the pediatric population. Holly has experience helping children with Down’s syndrome (Trisomy 21), autism, articulation, fluency disorders, and language disorders find their voices in order to communicate more effectively. Since 2005, Holly has worked with students who are bilingual or predominantly Spanish speakers. While she does not speak Spanish fluently, she is in the process of learning the language (sometimes from her students!), and enjoys sharing in that sequential language learning process with her students. Working with linguistically and culturally diverse populations has been very rewarding for her. Holly also has a passion for treating students who stutter. Holly lives with her husband, her four sons, and two cats. She enjoys learning, taking road trips with her family and swimming.
